Clay Grube was a starting pitcher and captain for Ohio Dominican University. He was a redshirt senior after having two elbow surgeries that forced him to miss both the 2007 and 2008 seasons with the Panthers. Grube has graduated with a degree in Middle Childhood Education in December.

Played high school baseball at Northridge High School in Johnstown, Ohio where he was a four year starter. Holds the record for wins in a single season and career wins. Second among Northridge’s list of single season strikeouts. Was a team captain in 2004 and 2005. Grube was voted the team MVP in 2004 and 2005 and Defensive MVP in 2003. Was named the Mt. Vernon News Pitcher of the Year in 2005. Was a 3 time All Conference selection (2003, 2004, 2005), 2 time All District Selection (2004, 2005) and 1st Team All Ohio (2005). Also played in the Mizuno All-Ohio Series in 2005. 
Started coaching during his redshirt season with Hunter Haswell and the Reynoldsburg Freshman Team, and coached two summer seasons with the Ohio Warhawks.
