2011 Try-Outs

Team EAS Baseball is excited to announce the addition of a third team for the 2011 Season! Age groups for next season will be U16/U17/U18. Each age group plays an important role in paving the way to college baseball. Team EAS will help show the way to college baseball in 2011 by putting new actions into place. One of these will be helping each age group to know where they should be in the recruiting process.

U16 - Is the time to really improve the academics, get educated on the recruiting process, and at the end of this season gear-up to attend college camps.

U17 - Is the year to gain exposure, be marketed to college coaches, and see where you fit in at the next level.

U18 - As players verbally commit or sign the their National Letter of Intent it then becomes about teaching how it differs from what they are used to.

If interested in trying out for any one of the 3 age groups, please fill out the on-line recruiting questionnaire (tab is to the left) prior to the try-out dates.

2010 EAS Invitational Runner-Up

2 out of 96

The Team EAS 18's finish second out of 96 teams this past weekend in the Buckeye Elite Tournament. For the second week in a row they have been in the championship game and lost by only one run. It was a great experience to get the chance to play at Huntington Park, the home of the Cleveland Indians AAA Columbus Clippers.

The Team EAS 16's also had a good weekend going 2-1 in pool play but did not get in to bracket play because of the rain shortened weekend.

Runner-Up

The U18 Team EAS finishes runner-up at the Ohio Yankees Tournament. They fell just short as they lost in the bottom of the seventh inning by a score of 7-6. Both the U16 & U18 teams will be at the Buckeye Elite tournament in Columbus this upcoming weekend.

Thank-You!

100,000 hits!!! Team EAS and all of the members would like to thank everyone that has visited our site!

Flames Summer Classic

Team EAS 18's reach the final four this past weekend in the Flames Summer Classic before falling to the host team. The team did well for playing in it's first wood bat tournament of the season. The wood bats made for some good close baseball games and more of a National league style of baseball. Both teams will be in the Akron/Canton area this weekend for the Ohio Yankees Tournament (18) and the Freedom Classic (16). It should be another fun weekend of baseball!

2010 All-Ohio

Team EAS members honored as All-Ohio players.

Division I

2nd Team - Josh Bokor - Gahanna

Division II

1st Team - Drew Dosch - Canal Winchester

Honorable Mention - Brandon Winter - Bellefontaine

Division 4

Honorable Mention - Sam Shafer - Buckeye Central

State Champs!

Team EAS would like to congratualate Logan Perkins and the Clear Fork Colts on their victory in the DIII State Championship Game. Logan will now join the U16 team as they begin to start their season. The U16 Team EAS will be in action tonight (June 8th) at Reynoldsburg HS.

8 Named to Dispatch All-Metro Team

Team EAS has eight players named to the Dispatch’s All-Metro Team. Named to the First Team were Ben Bokor and Drew Dosch. Named to the Second Team was Kameron Wright. Named for Special Mention were Andrew Gronski, Marcus Makuch, Chris Mitko, Kyle Jeffries, and Weston Weiss.

Division I Central District "Player of the Year"

Ben Bokor named the Division I District tri-player of the Year. Ben finished his senior season at Gahanna HS with a record of 7-3 on the hill. Five were complete games and three shut-outs. The south-paw finished the season with 55 2/3 innings of work and a 3.00 ERA.

Bokor will continue his academic and athletic career at The Ohio State University.

Ben has a pitcher’s dream! A twin brother, Josh, is a catcher. The two are able to get a lot of work in at each of their respected positions. Josh has been an instrumental part of Ben’s development.

Ben is the son of Andrew and Karen Bokor. The twins are the oldest of four children. Max is their younger brother and Molly is the youngest.

Clear Fork Heads to States

The Clear Fork Colts HS baseball team will be one of the four teams at the Division III State Championships. Clear Fork will enter the semi-finals with a record of 30-2. Clear Fork will be facing Independence on Thursday June 3rd at 7:00 p.m. The State Championships are being held at Huntington Park. Team EAS will be represented by our own Logan Perkins. Logan is the first basemen and a relief pitcher for his high school team.

Perkins came up huge for his team in the school's first Regional Championship. In the fourth inning, Logan belted a 3-run homerun to put the Colts up by a score of 5-2. This gave Clear Fork a little breathing room until the seventh inning rolled around. The Colts found themselves in a bit of a momentum swing, even though they still led 6-2. The bases were juiced when the coach signaled Perkins (Sophomore) to the bump. Not an ideal situation for any pitcher! Bases loaded and no outs in the seventh inning of a Regional Championship. Logan found a pitcher's best friend with the first batter he faced, a double-play. He later got a strike out to end the game and get the save. The final was a 6-4 victory and a State Championship birth.

Mizuno All-Ohio Series

Four players from Team EAS have been selected to play in the All-Ohio Mizuno Series. Congrats to Ben Bokor, Josh Bokor, Drew Dosch, and Evan Dix! The Ohio High School Coaches Association will hold their annual event at Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. The Series will be held on June 11th and 12th.

D-I All-Northwest District 9 "Player of the Year"

Evan Dix completed his high school career with a bang, at Ashland HS. Evan was elected the D-I All-Northwest District 9 "Player of the Year". Dix also was named to the All-Ohio Cardinal Conference 1st Team, and the MVP of the Northwest District 9 All-Star game. Evan will be playing in the Daily Record All-Star game on Friday May 28th.

Evan will graduate with a Honors Diploma and a GPA of 3.78. Dix receive the Presidential Award of Excellence and the Award of Merit. He will continue his education and baseball career at the University of Tampa.

Evan is the son of Troy and Lori Dix. He is the oldest of their three children. His younger brother, Stewart, often has been Evan's catcher until recent shoulder problems. Sister, Melissa, is the youngest of the three.

D-II Central District "Player of the Year"

Drew Dosch named the D-II Central District Player of the Year. Dosch adds the award to a very impressive high school career at Canal Winchester under (Team EAS) Coach Jason Vest.

Drew completed his high school career as a three year letter winner. He has been selected to play in the Mizuno All-Ohio series in June. Dosch has also collected Canal's team MVP award the past two season along with first team All-MSL, MSL Buckeye "Player of the Year", and being first team All-District.

Dosch's most impressive numbers are not even in the scorebook! Drew is a classic example of a student-athlete, with a GPA of 4.0. He is first in his class out of 241 while being active in the school and community. Drew served on the National Honor Society, Student Council, the LEO Club, and the Stand & Deliver Program which talks to elementary and middle schools about staying in school along with the values of work ethic, athletics, and sportsmanship. Drew also served in the community by volunteering his time to participate for the highway trash clean-up, breakfast with the bunny, Santa in the village, and raking leaves for the elderly.

Drew Dosch will continue his career at Youngstown State University. He will major in adolescent and early adult education and play baseball under Head Baseball Coach Rich Pasquale.

Drew is the son of Greg and Lisa Dosch. Drew is the middle child of three. Grant is a sophomore at the University of Dayton and Rachel is a sophomore at Canal Winchester.
